The October 7
meeting of the Beth El Ner Tamid Board of Trustees was called to
order at 7:40 p.m. by President Al Simon. Barbara Abrams, Melanie
Bandos, Patricia Chamoy, Joseph Hirschberg, David Kazilsky, Nancy
Kellman, Howard Loeb, Alan Marcuvitz, Fred Meyer, Robert Peterman,
Al Simon, Deanna Spanjar, Rodney Ugent, and Ilene Wasserman were
present. Ava Bortin, Jane Chester, Harvey Kaufman, and Pamela Stein
were excused.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Treasurer:
In the absence of Jane Chester, Ilene Wasserman presented the
financial report.
Sisterhood:
Deanna Spanjar reported that Sisterhood
will be going to Chicago to the Illinois Holocaust Museum. She also
talked about a Junior Social Action Committee being put together in
the school whereby the students are volunteering to do various tasks
and accumulating points for a prize and volunteer hours to put on
college resumes.
Israel
Bond Appeal: Al Simon
reported on the results of the bond appeal.
OLD BUSINESS
On August 17 the
board approved a new loan at M&I Bank. The details of the loan were
discussed.
NEW BUSINESS
The board talked
about search committees for both an interim and a permanent Rabbi.
Al Simon and Bob
Peterman discussed the format of the upcoming Town Hall meeting.
There being no
further business to come before this Board of Trustees, the meeting
was adjourned at 8:50 p.m.
