The
January 26 meeting of the Beth El Ner Tamid Board of Trustees was
called to order at 7:45 p.m. by President Al Simon. Barbara Abrams,
Melanie Bandos, Ava Bortin, Jane Chester, Harvey Kaufman, David
Kazilsky, Nancy Kellman, Fred Meyer, Robert Peterman, Robert Rudman,
Al Simon, Rodney Ugent, Ilene Wasserman, and past presidents Joseph
Hirschberg and Howard Loeb were present. Patricia Chamoy, Alan
Marcuvitz, Neal Plotkin, Deanna Spanjar, and Pamela Stein were
excused.
Rabbi
Tamar Crystal was invited to speak to us and she outlined her vision
for the future of our synagogue. She also answered questions from
board members.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Jane Chester discussed our current financial report including income
and expenses.
SISTERHOOD: In Deanna’s absence, Jane spoke about the Donor
luncheon on February 7 that will feature author Maggie Anton who
wrote “Rashi’s Daughters”. Sisterhood has agreed to buy some
new platters for the kitchen.
MEN’S CLUB: Rodney Ugent
spoke about the upcoming Tom Anthony concert on February 6, the
World Wide Wrap on February 7, and the Man of the Year dinner on February
24. The Brewer games money earned will go towards the purchase of a
handicap door opener for the front inside and outside.
OLD BUSINESS
The following items were discussed:

The
rummage and its associated labor required to prepare and run it.

The
Passover Seder dinner.
-
Koshering the kitchen for Passover.
-
Fundraising committee formation and meeting.
-
Other
discussions as it pertains to the future of our synagogue.
NEW BUSINESS
The
committee to hire an interim Rabbi has been authorized to meet with
Rabbi Tamar Crystal for the purpose of reaching an agreement as to
the terms of her contract. The terms of this agreement will be the
subject of consideration at a future Board of Trustee’s meeting.
